Updating your Wardrobe- Diversity is key

Trends seem to change all the time and it can be hard keeping up, but your style is what you make it. I hope to show you all that you don't need to keep up with the latest trends to be stylish. Your closet is what you make it and always be proud of it!

With social media platforms like instagram growing everyday, it is hard for us to not compare ourselves with all of these girls and the perfect clothes they are wearing. My advice to you is to stop looking at what they have and ask yourself, what can I do to make my wardrobe different than theirs? The best outfits are the ones that are the most diverse. Don't follow everyone else, do your own thing and it will end up being spectacular.

We are all beautiful inside and out, and you don't need the latest clothes to prove that.

Even saying that, I still feel like my wardrobe needs an update every now and then. Not because I want to be like everyone else, but because I want to try something new. Some just need a little push to get there, and that is what I'm here for!

Let's start with the basics- pants. Skinny jeans are my favorite to pair with clothes because they match with just about everything. But to add something a little extra, start looking for some that have something unique on the side of them. Some have different colors of stripes down the side of them, and some have gems. This will help you all stand out from just an average skinny jean.

When I want something unique, I always turn towards jackets. There are so many out there that can turn your outfit from boring to fun!! Leather jackets are always cute with everything, but try and find some with fringe on it. People won’t be able to get enough! If you aren’t feeling the leather, try fur. Many people don’t like wearing jackets with fur because they feel overdressed, but I feel that it makes me look more put together. For some inspiration, look here.

Believe it or not, belts can make your outfit look completely different. You can wear them with dresses or jeans, either will look amazing. If your looking in the mirror and feel like your outfit needs some spunk, put a belt on. It will look even better if you tuck your shirt in to show it off! Big belts are my favorite, but small ones can be just as cute.

Accessories are something that many people forget about but are very necessary. Earrings are my favorite, and my motto is, “go big or go home”. You can’t go wrong with hoops! You can wear them to breakfast early in the morning or out late at night, and they just might change your life. If you aren't feeling the hoops, then just try a simple earring. Both are better than nothing!

Tops are very important, but I would say not as important as the rest. Don't feel like you need an out of this world top every time you want to go out. Some of the cutest tops are the simplest ones, and they deserve some credit. Take a white, plain t-shirt and wear it with jeans and your favorite jacket. Now all we need to finish this look is the perfect shoes!

Last year I bought myself a pair of combat boots to wear even though I had never gotten shoes like that, and they are now some of my favorite shoes I own. If you are looking for a shoe that will step up your look, they are perfect. They make any outfit look amazing. I highly advice you guys to invest in this shoe, you won't be sorry!

The Perfect Store- Is It Out There?

As the holiday season rolls around, we often find ourselves buying gifts, whether we like it or not. But, a lot of people end up waiting until the last second because they can never find the right place to shop. I hope this blog helps many of you that are going through this crisis to find the perfect gift like it does for me!

One of my favorite stores to shop is called Anthropologie because it is unlike any other. It is one of the stores you walk into and realize all of the joyous pleasures of the world. Unlike every other common store, this one holds everything unique inside, and has an aesthetic appearance everywhere you look. If you are trying to find something special that no one else has for your mom, aunt, cousin, sister, or daughter, then this is the place to shop!

Anthropologie is the perfect place to find something that they will love. It holds perfumes, perfect objects to place around your household, furniture, and clothes that you will see no where else. You can shop their online store, or if you live in a big city there is probably one just around the corner!

Another one of my favorite stores to shop is Free People. If you were wondering what it holds inside, just read the name again! This shop is for those free spirits that have a unique sense of style and a bit of edge. It has a bit of the same style as Anthropologie, but I would say Free People is a little bit more for the younger crowd. It also can be pricey, so make sure what you are buying is worth it!

For those not looking to spend much this time of year, you can still find spot on items for less that are just as good as the stores above. Kohl's often has great items that you can get for good deals. I shop here when I need to find something specific, because they seem to usually have everything. Don't be afraid to shop here because it seems "basic", because you just might end up finding the best deal around.

For my teenagers and young adults out there, don't worry, I haven't forgotten about you! Even though you guys will most likely be receiving gifts than giving them, there are a few out there that I know always need a good suggestion. Forever 21 may give you a heart attack when you walk through the doors because of the clothes everywhere, but you can find the perfect purchase if you take time to look and find it.

Besides forever 21, H&M also has good quality. Lucky for us, these stores are usually local so if you need to find something last minute, it is the perfect opportunity to go and look around!

If you are looking more for style and the newest items, Nordstrom's is a great place for you. Usually when walking in, I find something I love immediately. I have never left that place empty handed, and that says a lot because I am the pickiest person you will ever meet. Their shoe section is to die for, and their clothes are very broad because they have many brands to choose from. Prices high to low, shoes tall to short, clothes for the winter or summer, they have it all.

I understand that most of these places are only found in big cities, but don't let that stop you! I left the links to all of the stores listed above, so put on a Hallmark movie, make some hot chocolate, and online shop till you find the best present to put under the tree! Happy holidays!

Shoes- We Would be Lost Without Them

Shoes really can make or break your day. After all, if it weren't for Cinderella's pristine glass slipper she would have never met her Prince Charming. Whether it is heels, boots, or sneakers, the variety of styles is endless and I am here to point you in the right direction to make your outfit complete. Classy, spunky, or simple, shoes tell a lot about someones personality.

We are rolling into fall, and where I live, that can mean a lot of different things. You wake up and it could be 40-50 degrees, 70 in the afternoon, and 60 in the evening. The thought, "what do I wear", is often a question that pops in my mind. Lucky for us, shoes give us the perfect start to make our outfit look good no matter the weather. So, where do we start?

If your feeling classy or ready to dress up any outfit that is feeling down, throw some heels on. Now, I am not saying to wear them out with your favorite grey sweatpants to go stroll around the grocery store. They simply do not deserve that reputation. Instead, think of them when you want to feel empowered and sophisticated. If you are going to wear them, at least do them justice. Pair them with a good jean or light dress, and people will be looking up to you in more ways than one!

There are several different types of heels and you can go to your local store if you want to find some. Because many jobs require somewhat nice attire, heels are usually a must. Walking blocks and blocks down the street in those 4 inch shoes can be a hassle, but ladies, beauty is pain. If I can do it, anyone can.

I am a sneaker girl at heart, no matter how hard I try not to be. I just can't help myself. I see a fresh new pair staring at me from the shelf and I give in. Sneakers have been in for the past few years, and the styles are evolving day by day. They are comfy, but at the same time can make you feel rebellious. People are beginning to pair them with every outfit and I am loving it!

Unlike other shoes, sneakers are also seasonal. You can wear them when it is 90 degrees outside, or you can wear them when it is 30. They go with just about everything, and come in many different styles. For some funky, unique sneaker inspiration, click here.

When you are feeling lost and confused, always remember the quote, "Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world." – Marilyn Monroe. When the colder weather is kicking in, boots are always the right way to go. I prefer a small boot over a tall boot, but that is just me. When you are feeling like a free spirit, throw your favorite sneakers on. When you are feeling classy and ready to take on the world, slide your feet in those heels! Shoes are so important when making an outfit complete, just trust your gut and your shoes will do the rest!
