"Anyone can get dressed up and glamorous, but it is how people dress in their days off that are the most intriguing."-Alexander Wang

Fall is back and so are the sweaters that take over every hanger in my closet. Need some advice on what to wear while the leaves are falling? Read more below!

Fall is my absolute favorite season of the year. The orange, yellow and red that take over the streets, the smell of every pumpkin Bath and Body candle, and the weather that slowly begins to change giving me an excuse to go to Starbucks and try their new seasonal drinks. Although those things are amazing, the thing that makes me most excited is my new wardrobe that I get to hang in my closet.

One of the things that I look forward to most are the sweaters. You can never go wrong with a good sweater, and they go with just about everything. Jeans, leggings, a jacket, you name it. Go to your local boutique and give in to those big bulky sweaters that are staring at you from the clothing rack. It might just make your outfit complete!

One thing that I love to pair with my outfit is a good hat. Yeah, maybe you like a good baseball hat, but that is not what I am talking about in this case. I have been finding a lot of big hats and they are just as fun as they look! Here is a pic of the first one I ever purchased on a whim, and now it is my favorite accessory to use.

I am the one in the middle with the black hat

When in doubt, put a spicy jacket on to give your look an up do. Short or long, big or small, they make any outfit look effortless and chic at the same time! A jean jacket is always my go to. I have also tried to go out of the box a little by purchasing cropped jackets and fur jackets, and so far I am not disappointed. Don't be afraid to do something that is a little unlike you, because you just might end up loving it.

FRINGE. You can never go wrong. I bought a red, fringe sweater last fall from one of my favorite stores, and it is still one of my favorite sweaters I own. Fringe might not be the top trend right now, but I think that is what makes it unique. Even when your scared to try something new, always remember a little goes a long way;).

If there is one thing to live by, it's that you can never have too many shoes. In my opinion, the shoes you are wearing give your outfit definition. The perfect shoe for fall is an ankle boot. If you're feeling rebellious, you can even find ones with snake print, black leather or a simple white. For more inspiration, upgrade your wardrobe with the click of this button!

Thanks for reading! I hope this helps you as the fall season rolls around. Never be afraid to try something new. Sweaters, jackets, boots, and hats are just small things that can help you express yourself. There is much more out there, just find things that show who you are!

Get ready for a sneak peek into the season we have ahead.

“Don't be into trends. Don't make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way to live."

Gianni Versace never lies when it comes to words of fashion. Take a look at yourself in the mirror. Who do you want to be today? You have the world in your hands, make it yours.

The most talked about looks you need in your closet

This years fashion week really brought the heat. With captivating diversity and runway shows only found in your dreams, no one was disappointed. Like a star athlete before the game of their career, New York fashion week had my excitement going through the roof. If you're looking for advice on how to expand your wardrobe, you've come to the right place.

Every once and a while someone wants insight on their style choices. Because I am a fashion enthusiast, I am always looking for the next big thing to make my wardrobe different from others. Since I live in Peoria, Illinois, it can often be hard keeping up with the latest trends that are taking place in the big cities like New York. Without social media, I would literally be lost. If you feel you are struggling in the same way, don't worry, I have your solution. If you just so happen to find yourself on Instagram on a Sunday afternoon, the explore page is your best friend. Simply look up the tag #newyorkfashionweek and the results will make your Sunday a little bit more exciting.

As trends began to pop up, I began to discover my favorite looks. Two words. Trench. Coat. As it took over the streets of New York it set hundreds of different outfits choices in my mind. Going out on a fall day? Trench Coat. Running to the grocery store in sweatpants? Trench Coat. A dinner date in your favorite red dress? Trench Coat!!! A piece so simple but will make any outfit look majorly chic. If you want some inspiration, click here!

A few of the other amazing looks I came across were big, bold shirt collars. It gives a statement without saying too much. Because these haven't been popular in the past, they came back to take their turn in the spotlight and show everyone who's boss.

Tired of the small hand bag that barely fits lip gloss and a pack of mints? No worries- the tote is back and it is here to stay. Personally, I love the look of a small bag on a casual street stroll, but I often missed holding a piece that was so bold it made pedestrians stop and stare. Designers have now had a new take on hand bags and officially make it possible to lose everything in your purse all over again! At least if you're anything like me...

I feel like every season has a new color hit the streets, but this year we are taking it back to the 80's. I finally have an excuse to wear hot pink on the streets without looking like a wannabe barbie. This pop of color goes a long way- whether it be from shoes, to earrings, to blazers, to shirts. For some hot neon outfits, click on this website.

The fun doesn't stop there. Colors like orange, turquoise, lime green, and yellow also made an appearance. Many of these colors may seem over the top on your everyday look, but they can make a casual outfit look striking. The neon is back ladies and gents, and I am loving every second of it. When working with these colors, a light dress is always my go to. If it is colder outside, a bright jacket can also give a big statement.

Of course there are many more trends that blew my mind, but these were a few of my favorites that I just had to share. I hope these looks can update your closet like they did mine and give you new inspiration to feel confident! Remember when in doubt about buying the right piece, always remember this famous quote by Iris Apfel: "Fashion you can buy, but style you possess. The key to style is learning who you are, which takes years. There's no how-to road map to style. It's about self expression and, above all, attitude."
